Amid much controversy and speculation the VLB has had its' first confession of steroid use. A long-time participant has come forward and told a local reporter that Brett Carlson has been using steroids for several years. On a condition of anonymity, Mitch Heckenkamp has stepped up and fingered 2004 Home Run Leader in the Steroid Scandal.
“Yeah, he use to do it all the time," said Heckenkamp. "We would just go into the Porta-John at Saukie and I would inject the steroids into his buttocks right before the game. We tried to keep it a secret. He pretended to be lazy while I would chastise him hoping that it would keep the speculation at bay."
“This is the most disappointing day in VLB history," replied VLB President Kiel Engstrom. "To have the Home Run Champ as the first known steroid user is a terrible blow to our league. It is a shame that our power hitters will now have the stigma of steroids to battle.
Why couldn't we have had a base stealer get caught first?"
VLB Commissioner Matt Veto declined to comment on the allegations but did state, "this matter will be examined fully and proper penalties will be levied if necessary."
