Due to an exceptional 2022 player turnout, games have been added to the VLB schedule on Tuesday evenings at Dickson Park. With just four "teams" this season, only two will play head-to-head for the coveted VLB World Series crown. Currently, Coach Mason Overmire's Hitters on are top at 10-7 (.588) with the Goonies (Josh Paul) and Cannons (Alex Miller) tied at 7-7. Skipper Kyle Kent's Katanas are still hanging on at 6-9 (.400). Each team is scheduled for 19 regular season games.
The All-Star Showcase is VLB's annual night game, where friends and family are invited to watch mediocre baseball. The game will be one 9-inning contest, will feature an emcee, prizes and it will also be a food drive for the River Bend Foodbank.
The 24 most dedicated VLBers for the 2022 season will receive an invite. As of August 15th, that number is currently eight. Players are asked to have at least one orange or navy jersey with name and number, as well as baseball pants and a hat to wear at the game.
