The Saturday double header featured the top two teams from the Black Hawk Division as the Mad Dogs (8-7) faced off against the Goonies (8-7) in the best-of-five divisional series. The Mad Dogs, captained by rookie coach Andrew Collins, earned home field advantage via a rock-paper-scissors duel several weeks ago. The Goonies are captained by veteran Josh Paul, whos team hasn't made a world series appearance since 2011.
In the first game, the visiting Goonies came out of the batter's box swinging, plating eight runs.
